In a moment of intense grief, we step into one of Jesus’ most jaw-dropping miracles that reveals something profound about God’s character: He specializes in bringing life where everyone else sees finality. When Jesus called Lazarus out of the tomb, He wasn’t just proving He had authority over physical death. He was revealing His authority over all things, and His ability to undo the curse of sin itself. This miracle is a preview of the cross and the empty tomb, where Jesus would defeat both sin and death once and for all. Because the same voice that called Lazarus out of the grave now invites each of us to step out of spiritual death into new life, Easter isn’t just about what happened to Jesus; it’s about what can happen for you.
